Dancehall Extravaganza
Missile brought Dancehall Extravaganza to a different venue; The Curve Bar in Ipswich.
This was the first managed reggae event to be held at the Curve Bar
There was a great turn out to support this annual reggae event with Missile transforming the venue with Decor and use their own sound system which rocked the Curve.
Skippa & Lexus got the crowd dancing from early filling the dance floor with a good cheerful atmosphere,
The main hype behind this years extravaganza was the return of Ipswich legend sound "Hammer", but for some reason they never managed to live up to the hype
in their first hour set, but improved as the dance went on...
Missile legend Outlaw Candy made a guest appearance giving a live performance of his hit single "Short Come Dis Me" which went down well...
All in all The night was a success with Reggae fans enjoying their Easter Good Friday raving all the way until the end of the night at 3am,

All three sounds played really good dropping all the old skool classic & mixing in the more up to date party tunes, Gemi Magic draw some deep deep bass line which some people was't use to and moaned that it was way too heavy for them but on the other hand many people love and wanted more deep bass line, the bass went through your body.
Many fans said this was the best extravaganza

DANCEHALL EXTRAVAGANZA
Easter Good Friday April 2007
The night was a music spectacular it was the first time in a very long time that I have seen the Caribbean club that busy with people coming out to enjoy a dancehall event, there were local dancehall fans from all over Suffolk and even guests from as far as Miami came out on the night and enjoyed the dance hall vibes until the early hours of the morning.
The turn out from the our local community was brilliant and the Missile family greatly appreciate the support and good behaviour from everyone. The combination of Missile, Platinum and Irie J was the perfect mix, both of the sounds juggled the sweetest tunes throughout the night and the crowd well and truly showed their appreciation by keeping the dance floor lively.
Irie J took the spot light and the stage at 1am with a sweet performance of 6 unique soul full and reggae tunes on the mic, the performance he gave was the icing on the cake it was truly enjoyed by all.
The club itself was totally transformed by the Missile crew they created a club with a difference by decorating the hall with backdrops, stage lighting and the setting up of a stage in the middle of the hall so all who attended could get a good view of Irie J and his performance.
As usual Missile’s sound system was on top form, the quality and the base line produced from the sound system is second to none - we must apologise to any one who woke the next morning with a headache or ear ringing.
Once again thank you for all who attended and we truly hope you enjoyed the night, we look forward to seeing you at the next Dancehall extravaganza The real ting.

Freddie McGregor special appearance
'Big ship' sailed down to Ipswich town for the very first time on Friday the 22nd of June and on board was the legendary Mr Freddie McGregor who performed live on stage at the Ipswich Caribbean Club with a full live band.
The Ipswich reggae fans turned out in their hundreds to watch his live performance and they wer in for a real treat. Freddie performed hit after hit from 'Push comes to shove' to the reggae smash 'Big Ship' more ...
There are over 200 sound systems in Jamaica and thousands more worldwide. Only a few come close to Stone Love and when the question is asked as to who is the reigning king of them all, the answer without hesitation is Stone Love.
The name Stone Love has become an international household name and is the most sought after sound system today with record producers and artists falling over themselves to have their music played in their sets. Head of Stone Love, WeePow founded the sound system in the late 60's and developing his sound sytem in the traditional way, working his way up to what Stone Love is today.

Missile 20th Anniversary Celebrations
featuring STONE LOVE
this was going to be a very speccial night, with a full crew, everybody that was anybody made sure they were at this event. Missile was built on it's sound system, so hosting this event in a nightclub (Zest Ipswich) came with it's own challenges. Dancehall Reggae must have an amazing bass end that is not often accomplished on a house sound system. Although Zest had great sound, Missile were taking no chances, installing their own boxes and amps which made the building shake!
Notorious Echo launched proceedings, playing a great selection of urban flavas with a reggae dressing which had the crowd on their feet and on the floor right from the beginning.
Skippa J and Lexus took to the decks and launched like a rocket into an amazining musical retrospective of the last 20 years of Missile featuring an electrifying jump up and tease selection which had the crowd screaming for more. It was a real education and a great example of what dancehall was all about.
Then the headlininer of the night - STONE LOVE hit the decks performing a great mix of vocals, classic and current Reggae Dancehall bombs, keeping the party moving, hands in the air and the dancefloor rammed.
With STONE LOVE closing their set, it was time for the PA's, starting with COJO. Following a great performance at the 2006 Mayday Event, COJO presented his expressive and personal music with a powerful Jamaican edge. He handed over to Ipswich's own international talent YT. His performance (in this reviewers eyes) was the highlight of the night. His power and prescence was like being hit by a buy a bucket of ice-cold brandy. You can see why YT has hit the big time.
It was now the turn of the much loved OUTLAW CANDY. Always contraversial, Candy put on a trademark performance, not missing a beat and whipping up the crowd as only he can.
This amazing night was brought to a close by the truly excellent team from London's own FLAMES FM. These guys really do know how to hold a party down and could have easily played the whole night. It would be great to see them play a night headlining by themselves.
If this night is anything to go by, Missile will continue to dominate the East Anglian Dancehall scene and further still. Here's to another 20 !!
Dancehall Extravaganza event
4th of August 2006.
Here's a review of another great night of Reggae Dancehall
East Anglia's No.1 Dancehall Reggae Event was yet another success. With urban music finding a wider audience, Reggae Dancehall has received a surge of popularity and this was reflected on this night, with party-goers arriving early from all over East Anglia and from all age groups.
This was a real coming together of minds and where in the case of a soundclash, all soundsystems are competing with each other, this time all the sounds worked with each other for the benefit of the crowd.
The pace was set by Missile, opening with some top vocal reggae, still enjoying their success at the East Anglian Cup Clash. The crowd were up for it, singing and dancing. ASher Ranks and Ebony Eye's Daddy Turbo were playing on the Sir Tropic sound system in one corner with the Invader sound system featuring Uncle Fee in the other corner.
The audience appreciation for 3 seperate sound systems was clear with the calm rivalry between sounds keeping things on the boil playing sweet reggae music.
1am and it was SHOWTIME ! - IRIE J provided a stunning performance. He never fails to impress in terms of vocal quality and presence (where does he get those suits ??) which went down a storm. A great night all round and a real alternative musical night out.

Chaka Demus & Pliers - Zest 2005
In October 2005, Black History Month saw one of the biggest commercial Reggae acts come to Ipswich Town,
CHAKA DEMUS & PLIERS.
The event was held at Zest Nightclub with the duo headlining Fever in da Dancehall with Zest reaching full capacity before the midnight hour with a lively crowd that stood out in being well-behaved throughout the night.
Local DJ's TRIPLE H, DADDY TURBO & AFRO BLU began the night by warming up the crowd with sensual Soul & Reggae followed by SKIPPA-J & LEXUS turning up the heat on the dancefloor with the crowd-pleasing hard core dancehall vibes
The live showcase began at 12.30am. First to grace the stage was Ipswich's very own IRE J whostirred the crowd with his own versions of hits from Luther Vandross, Sixth Street & other great hits, the crowd joining in singing & dancing.
The comperes for the night were DADDY TURBO & AFRO BLU from BBC Radio Suffolk's EBONY EYE show introducing CHAKA DEMUS & PLIERS to the stage to an overwhelming welcome from the crowd.Their set began with their massive hit song 'Tease Me Tease Me' followed by further great hits including 'Twist & Shout' and 'Murder She Wrote'. The finale of the night was brought to us by PLIERS singing a classic Bob Marley song in an accapella style which left the crowd begging for more.
CHAKA DEMUS & PLIERS put on an amazing show which captivated the audience who demonstrated their appreciation with loud applause as they left the stage. Fever in da Dancehall launched to great success demonstrating a great collaboration between organizers Missile Entertainment, Zest Nightclub and BBC Ebony Eye.
See the top of the page for the next incredibile event.
