Energy 2nd May - Mayday Festival Afterparty

Click for more details

Mayday in the Alexandra Park was a washout and without the Urban Stage, most of the younger crowd stayed at home.

Mayday 2010 Urban Stage Shakeup...

This years Mayday festival will see a major shakeup with the cancellation of the ever-popular Urban DJ Stage traditionally hosted by Missile.

The popularity of this event, fuelled by the Urban Stage has meant substantial increases in demands on associated authorities who in turn have decided to allow only one stage on the park, only open to live bands. As our urban musical culture is DJ, MC and Dancer led, this has effectively prevented us from presenting Urban music to the Ipswich public.

The authorities will consider their position for 2011 so a return of Urban music cannot be ruled out in future years.

We're not 'letting go' without a celebration, with Energy bringing an Urban Mayday After Party at Pals on the 2nd May.

Although we are entertainers, we are concerned that outlets for entertainment and expression for the youger community of Ipswich are being systematically eradicated and hope that local authorities consider this as events such as the Mayday festival are a vital part of bonding our community.
